“Ben…take care of the priest. I’m going to catch that bastard,” Cade said, briefly meeting his friend’s eyes as he ran after the hitman.

“You got it. Good hunting!” Benat yelled back, quickly reaching for his own gun. He was going to need it. He had never known anyone to attract that much trouble in such a short amount of time. Someone must truly hate that priest.

“Cade, wait!” Aoife was set to run after him, but was stopped by her husband’s comrade as he grabbed hold of her arm.

“Ma’am, don’t. You best be staying right here...if you know what’s good for you and your baby, that is.”

Aoife blinked. “But he’s heading towards a...”

“He knows what he’s doing. Believe it or not, Cade can handle himself pretty well in a fight. If you chase after him, you’ll not only be a distraction to him but you’ll also be putting your life in danger. And you don’t want that to happen, now do you?” His speech sounded a lot harsher than he had initially planned to, but Benat could see that it had the necessary effect. The priestess still looked like she’d rather be somewhere else than being stuck here with him. Yet he must have gotten trough to her, because she showed no intention to follow Cade. Satisfied, Benat looked at the high priest. “Sir, it’s not safe here. If we stay, it will only endanger you and your people. My employer won’t like it if you get killed.”

“I understand. We wouldn’t want to upset your boss,” Ra Ta smiled politely as he beckoned his chief of security. “Thomar, can you and your men escort us to the safe room?”
